You might recall this tall tale about Oscar, a dog who made national headlines after ordering $50 in Xbox Live points by chewing on a controller.
Microsoft were so impressed by Oscar's gamer cred that they contacted Oscar's owner, Greg Strope, to refund his money, replace his controller, and set the dog up with his own Xbox Live account.
As a Microsoft rep told Kotaku, "Luckily for Greg, Microsoft is refunding his LIVE points and providing extra for good measure. Plus he will get an extra controller and a LIVE subscription for his dog, Oscar. We also created a gamertag for Oscar so that he doesn't feel left out anymore."
Oscar's gamertag is "Oscar the K9," and you can check out his profile here. At the time of writing, he hasn't played any games yet. Probably still trying to get the Forza 3 box open.
So next time you're playing Halo, keep an eye out for a player with a strangely "ruff" voice, a remarkable ability for following spoken commands, and an irresistible urge to chase after grenades. Sounds like Oscar could be a cut above the usual Xbox Live player, if anything.
