LittleBigPlanet [PSP]

If there's one thing I love, it's LittleBigPlanet. I mean, I've got the Platinum Trophy on the PlayStation 3 version, I pull together those LBP Level-Lovers Anonymous articles on the PS3 page, and I play LittleBigPlanet PSP every chance I get.

Last night, I went to a PSPgo launch event, and although LBP PSP was there, it was just a bunch of levels I've previewed before. What was new was my first look at "My Pod." Now, in the PS3 version of the game, the pod is a cardboard spaceship you can decorate and navigate the game from. Here, the pod is just another world you navigate to except the "world" is a segmented rocket.

One of these sections is "My Sackperson." Now, you can edit your character from the Popit menu whenever you want, but this is the space where you can figure out what you want your burlap guy to look like. The white knit, zombie skin, and blue denim are all here in terms of material but so are the green camo and luchador paintjobs. The Radec helmet and clothes from the LBP Killzone 2 pack are here, there's a lunar buggy for the waist, and so much more.

Now, on the PS3 version of the game, you can hook up the PlayStation Eye and take a photo of yourself for your avatar, but here, that functionality isn't a possibility. Instead, you can go to your rocket ship, click on "My Avatar" and choose from a smattering of preset icons that'll represent you and the levels you create and upload in LBP PSP.

Outside of all that was a slot called "My News." Sadly, this option wasn't working, but I imagine it'll carry updates and news from Media Molecule similar to what the PS3 does for players.

As always, LittlBigPlanet PSP looked very, very good. Yes, I'm a fan, but I think most people will dig the ability to create levels on go and the ability to jump, grab, and pwn levels of all shapes and sizes.
